Local government agencies are starting to show a greater responsiveness and willingness to incorporate CSO policy recommendations in several of MADANI’s project areas. For example, in Bogor (West Java), Lead Partner Metamorfosis and the Bogor City Social Welfare Agency (Dinas Sosial) have agreed to update the persons with disabilities database and integrate it into the city’s social welfare web-based application. Furthermore, in Sukabumi (West Java), the District Anti-narcotics Agency (Badan Narkotika Nasional Kabupaten/Kota or BNNK) is working with Lead Partner Saba Desa to coordinate an anti-narcotics training for teenagers (Posyandu Remaja). In Pangkep (South Sulawesi), Lead Partner Lekrac has signed an agreement with the District Family Welfare Empowerment Agency (PKK) to revitalize health centers, providing integrated social services with the support of the Village Funds. In Brebes (Central Java), the district government has appointed Lead Partner Eska Unggul and multi-stakeholder forum KOBBER to a team that will design, implement, monitor, and evaluate the Ministry of Health’s maternal and child health program (Desa Siaga KIBBL), which will be replicated in 292 villages across the region.
