MADANI’s CSO Partner in Makassar, the Institute of Community Justice (ICJ) and the multi-stakeholder Forum BARANI established on 28 April 2022 a “Civil Society Alliance for Freedom of Information”, which advocates for the right to access public information. The Alliance brings together 12 CSOs, journalists, the Provincial Information Office (PPID), and community leaders. In their declaration, the Alliance demanded that all government agencies in South Sulawesi guarantee the right to public information and develop an information system for improved access. As one of the signatories, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government recognizes the Alliance and is committed to supporting their cause.
