Strong Government Buy-in of USAID CSO Self-Assessment Tool Leads to Potential National Scale Up
USAID MADANI has promoted the adoption of the USAID-endorsed Organizational Performance Index (OPI) to measure organizational capacity improvements among 32 local CSOs in Indonesia.
On 15 December 2022, the mayor of Bogor opened a large CSO fair with more than 100 local organizations by highlighting their contribution toward achieving regional development goals. The City of Bogor has benefitted from the increase in CSO performance through various partnerships; during the fair, representatives from the city announced that they will further invest in the OPI as a standard measurement. As of December 2022, 64 out of 210 registered CSOs in the city have completed the OPI self-assessment. Representatives from the Office of the President (KSP) and the National Agency for Development Planning (Bappenas) attended the event and expressed their interest in adopting the OPI at the national level.
