MADANI supports local CSOs to provide policy recommendation on service delivery improvements that will have lasting impact for the community.

In Wonosobo (Central Java), the Local House of Representatives (DPRD) has accommodated the policy recommendation on community health provided by CSO members of MADANI Learning Forum, the Forum Madani Wonosobo. This was the result of series of meetings between DPRD, the District Health Office and the Learning Forum that culminated in a public hearing at the DPRD on July 1. As evidence for their recommendations, the MADANDI Learning Forum members shared the result of a citizen survey that the Learning Forum conducted in May. As a result, the DPRD agreed to support Forum Madani Wonosobo’s plan to pilot community-based health service improvements in three Community Health Centers, and agreed to include a regional regulation on public service improvement into the list of draft regulations for 2022. The public hearing also recommended that the Social Affairs Agency immediately verify and validate the data of poor families that no longer have access to the National Health Insurance, and asked the District Health Office to produce a budget projection for all recipients and submit it to the 2021 budget amendment, while also increasing the budget projection for the 2022 budget.
