USAID-ERAT Boosts Organizational Capacity of MADANI Civil Society Partners.

Mar 13, 2022

For decades, poor organizational capacity has hindered civil society actors in the province of Banten, limiting their ability to participate in the region’s development process. In February 2022, experts from the USAID Local Governance Enabling Environment Activity (ERAT) provided technical assistance to the Banten Civil Society Coalition to craft policy briefs on strategic development issues based on citizen input.

The Coalition, comprised of 31 local CSOs, was established in December 2021 with the help of MADANI’s provincial partner PATTIRO Banten. They will use these policy briefs to advocate the provincial government to address (1) public service accessibility for people with disabilities, (2) gender-based violence against women and children, and (3) the transparent use of village funds.
