MADANI partner PDNA Bulukumba will use the social autopsy tool to complement the medical autopsy, exploring the social causes of a mortality and providing additional evidence to frontline agencies and policymakers for improvements. On 28-29 June 2022, experts from MADANI and MPHD provided a training to PDNA Bulukumba, local CSOs, midwives, and the Bulukumba Public Hospital, which focused on techniques to facilitate and organize interviews and focus group discussions using the MADANI human-centered design approach.

USAID MADANI collaborates with the USAID Momentum Private Healthcare Delivery (MPHD) activity in Bulukumba (South Sulawesi) by using the social autopsy tool, which is an established community process based on interactions with the family and wider local community of a deceased mother or infant.
