In the morning, a workshop was held the Deputy Regent and several local government agencies to present the results of the citizen perception survey regarding the community’s response to the transparency of village funds in Luwu Utara, the selected thematic issue in Luwu Utara. One of preliminary findings indicate that 80 percent of village funds are used to build infrastructure and do not respond to the needs of vulnerable communities. In relation to the finding, the MADANI Learning Forum proposed as a local solution to pilot the establishment of a forum for vulnerable groups to be involved in village budget planning. The Deputy Regent welcomed the idea of establish a forum, to work closely with the Regional Poverty Reduction Coordination Team (TKPKD). In the afternoon, members of the MADANI Learning Forum met with the Regent of Luwu Utara, Ms, Indah Putri Indriani, who requested that the MADANI local solution is replicated in other villages in Luwu Utara. MADANI is presently exploring how this could be co-funded by the local government and MADANI.
