USAID MADANI CSOs Advance Public Services Delivery and Transparency in Wonosobo, Central Java.
On 16 January 2023, the District Government of Wonosobo (Central Java) acknowledged in a public seminar the critical role that USAID MADANI partner CSOs play in improving the district’s capacity to deliver quality public services.
Over the last three years, MADANI CSO partner KITA Institute, alongside members of the multi-stakeholder learning forum, has advocated for and piloted improved public service delivery which has contributed to the enactment in 2022 of Local Regulation on Public Services on in 2022. These civil society activities were recognized by the Ombudsman and as a result, the district’s public service compliance score in the 2022 “Local Government Public Service Standards Compliance Assessment”, which is issued annually by the Indonesian Ombudsman office, increased significantly, from 59.35 in 2021 to 90.25 in 2022. The acknowledgment by the district government shows their strong support of MADANI and engaging civil society and other key stakeholders through a collaborative governance approach.
