USAID MADANI Elevates Civil Society’s Advocacy Ability by Improving Writing Skills

However, the country’s digital space has recently deteriorated due to extensive disinformation, causing confusion and fear among citizens. On November 29, 2022, USAID MADANI and Atma Connect hosted a talk show at the @America venue in Jakarta to promote the role of communications as an advocacy tool in an era of increasing disinformation and mistrust. At the event, which welcomed 88 in-person and 65 online attendees, a panel of experts inspired and motivated civil society activists and students to continue voicing, and finding solutions to, local development issues through powerful stories. MADANI also announced six winners of an impact story writing competition, which had received 117 entries, during the event. In addition, USAID premiered a powerful short video entitled “A Shared Mindfulness,” which is about MADANI’s partners’ contributions to public service improvements in Central Java and South Sulawesi.
