Higher Education Supports Civil Society Organizations in Pursuing Evidence for Advocacy for Reproductive Health.
Advocacy based on facts and data is paramount to defending the safety and rights of women and girls. On February 9, 2022, USAID MADANI Lead Partner Gerakan Peduli Perempuan Jember (GPP), located in Jember (East Java), signed an agreement with the Center for Gender Studies at the University of Jember.
GPP will provide access to their MADANI program sites on reproductive health to students that are participating in the university’s community service program. GPP will assist the students to become more aware of community-based reproductive health issues. The partnership will in turn support GPP by providing access to primary data and reliable data sources. MADANI encourages CSOs to build relationships with higher education and research institutes to strengthen evidence collection and policy proposal quality to solve development challenges at the local level.
