Teenager Healthcare Expands Impact to Schools in Sukabumi

The initiative includes reopening the healthcare centers, providing counselling and education to the public, and training and mobilizing youth volunteers. Earlier this year, the Sukabumi District Government issued a circular letter that expands this local initiative to all 386 villages throughout the 27 sub-districts in Sukabumi. On 18 July 2022, the local District Health Office issued a decree to further scale up the local innovation by establishing healthcare centers for teenagers at their schools, with counselors and volunteers trained by Saba Desa. Students and teachers will benefit through increased awareness of reproductive health issues among teenagers and the importance of nutrients for pregnant teenagers and young mothers.
