USAID-MADANI Resource Strengthens Women’s Organizations in Banten.

To promote the sustainability of USAID-MADANI practices, MADANI’s former CSO partner in Serang (Banten), Aisyiyah Serang (Muhammadiyah’s women’s organization) is collaborating with the Banten provincial government and the provincial branch of the Women's Organization Cooperation Agency (Badan Kerjasama Organisasi Wanita or BKOW) to promote MADANI’s Organizational Performance Index (OPI) to other women’s organizations in the province.

USAID-MADANI Resource Strengthens Women’s Organizations in Banten


On October 2, 2023, BKOW and Aisyiyah Serang launched a competition on organizational governance (Lomba Tertib Organisasi), with 19 other BKOW members completing and submitting the OPI self-assessment for their organizations, along with PowerPoint presentations and profiles of their organizations. This gamified approach has encouraged more organizations to commit to use the OPI and improve their organizational development. BKOW and the provincial government will announce the winners of the competition on October 10, but, importantly, will also collaborate with Aisyiyah Serang to provide MADANI-produced capacity development modules to all the participants, based on their respective OPI scores. The provincial government, through the BKOW, will provide the funding for this training.
